- Grandmaster John Null started training in Tae Kwon Do after returning home from a tour in South East Asia (Vietnam) with the Marines. (1968 - 1970)
- He has successfully competed in competition throughout the east coast and has won hundreds of grand champion awards and was rated in the top ten of the sport. GM Null has also refereed hundred

- He has successfully competed in competition throughout the east coast and has won hundreds of grand champion awards and was rated in the top ten of the sport. GM Null has also refereed hundreds of Pro and Amateur Kickboxing events as well promoted kickboxing events.
- He is the founder and president of the Pennsylvania Referees Association and teaches clinics on the proper judging and safety of the sport.
- He also Judged numerous MMA events throughout Pennsylvania.
